John Baumgartner's Anchor Brush Company started Tim-mee Toys making plastic toy figures in 1948.

In 1964, a nearby Illinois company, Processed Plastic, purchased the Tim-Mee Toy company from Anchor Brush. They produced "Army Men", figures and plastic toys until 2005. Currently, the company BMC Toys sells recasts of the Tim-Mee Toy figures.
